Ingredients

  • 1 lb regular sliced bacon, not the thick variety
  • 30 to 40 pitted dates
  • 30 to 40 tooth picks or short bamboo skewers

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  2. Place tooth picks or short bamboo skewers in a glass of hot water
  3. Cut the entire package of bacon in half
  4. Roll each date in a half piece of bacon and secure with pick
  5. Bake on parchment lined sheet pan for approximately 20 to 25 minutes or until brown and crispy
  6. Makes 30 to 40 dates, depending on the thickness or how many slices you have in a package

Recipe Notes

Use regular sliced bacon and not the thick variety, otherwise it would take too long to cook and might burn or the date would shrink too much.

For variety, you can stuff the dates with almonds first and then wrap with bacon
